Sneinton Artists
Sneinton Artists’ Group is a collective of professional and semi-professional artists and craft makers resident or working in the area of Sneinton, Nottingham. The group was established in 1999 as a forum to actively encourage the display and viewing opportunities of locally created work within our inner city community. Membership is through active and continuing participation - from organising the group and it’s events, to the promotion and publicising of our activities and showing work at exhibitions. The group also assists local artists to promote their individual work and get it more widely seen as well as acting as a forum to explore and pass on information towards opportunities within both the East Midlands and U.K. As the full membership has now grown to just over 50 artists, so has the differing types of arts & media exhibited by the group and we encompass many art and craft disciplines, which includes . . . • oil painting • ceramics • interior and exterior installations • performance art • photography • glass making • acrylic painting • original prints • wood carving • plaster relief • water colours • 3D constructions • pen, ink, crayon and pencil drawings • film & video • recycled art • digital art and installation • digital music and performance • poetry performance • graffiti • metal sculpture • hand made cards • fabrics • felt making • jewellery and accessories • silversmiths and goldsmiths • embroidered textiles • carnival parade constructions • costumes & masks • theatre design • graphic design • light sculptures At all our events and exhibitions many pieces are for sale and individual artists will often take on private commissions.
