Three large abstract paintings dominated my recent exhibition. In a way they gave a peep behind the scenes at a large superstore.

     The third and largest painting  'Team Talks' pictured here was based on a warehouse storage area. Walk from the shop floor into any of the back areas and round any corner you may bump into a team talk in progress. The Stores' way of passing information down to the grass roots from the managers meetings, which is both effective and successful.

     Here two team leaders address their groups amongst gloriously colourful organic products, stacked in their crates awaiting their turn to replenish the shop floor.,

 

 

    'Pond'. A small abstract painting 24 in by 24 in. I enjoy my pond and the fish it. I feel that this will be the first of many. More freely painted than the ' well organised' store paintings ,as can be expected; shapes and colour however still maintain their significant roles and tensions.

    Much of my work is based on real life situations, often a sequence of events observed over a period, sketched and transferred to canvas whilst mental images are fresh.
