Pam Miller
Remembering Greece (2004) Mixed media on canvas 41 x 51 cm My paintings (oil, acrylic, mixed media on canvas and wood) and monoprints are concerned with the use of metaphor in the landscape. Observations of nature in transition has led to my developing a "shorthand" of markmaking, with a sense of a location. Most recent work is highly textured, with the use of discarded materials, such as envelopes, leather, string etc. The paper pulp mixed media paintings are stained with dyes, acrylics and/or oils. Some represent emotional maps, such as "Miles Apart", suggesting distance in the landscape and perhaps a metaphor for emotional distance between two human beings. Prices range from £20 - £1,600. Commissions considered. Education work undertaken.
