Moreland Court Artists Studio Group was established in 1995. Initially the studios were set up due to a need to provide inexpensive ground floor sculpture "workshop" spaces. No other Nottingham studios were found to be suitable for large or heavy construction work.

 

Along with the ground floor spaces, there are well lit first floor spaces which have been used by contemporary painters and mixed media artists. Based on an industrial estate by the River Trent, the location provides access to many industrial services and resources in the area as well as being close to the city centre.

 

The studio is part of a group of units within a fenced secure courtyard with parking space and outdoor work area. Other units are used by musicians, construction workers and designers/sculptors.

 

The individual contemporary artists in the studio group exhibit locally, nationally and internationally and have created large outdoor sited sculptures. They have been active in many projects based in Nottingham.
