Joe McCullagh
Joe F McCullagh is an educator lecturing at The Nottingham Trent University in The School of Art and Design. Joe has recently moved back to Nottingham having originally studied Fine Art at what was then called Trent Polytechnic. This is a new body of work that acts as an interesting connecting point between his work then and now. The new work addresses painterly processes but in the form of digital media. He is concerned with exploring the digital pixel aesthetic in these artworks. He is not attempting to simulate the quality of paint but to push the quality of the pixel re-aligning and responding with new working processes. The work derives from landscapes in their own expressive and improvisational way leading to graphic almost abstract representations. They bring together variations on a theme in an evocative fusion of graphic form and colour. The 'scapes' are based on the immediate locality in Lady Bay, notably the Hook and also regionally in Norfolk. Email or phone on 0115 846 0433 Visit Joe McCullagh's website |
