Fran Tristram, Potter
The past couple of years have seen major changes in my working practice. While I continue to work in finely thrown and handbuilt stoneware glazed in warm landscape colours, I have added a new range of highly burnished smoked ware which, while still domestic in scale and form, is more sculptural in intent. New Art Classes in Lady Bay Together with artist Rod Bailey, we are offering new art classes in our Seymour Road Studios starting in the week beginning 20th April Classes currently offered include: Pottery: Mon 7-9pm, Tues 10-12noon, Tues 1-3pm, Wed 10-12noon Print-making: Wed 1-3pm, [Wed 7-9pm from June] Drawing: Tues 10-12noon, Painting: Tues 1-3pm Painting & drawing: Mon 7-9pm, Wed 10-12noon, & Wed 7-9pm Our classes are welcoming and informal with a focus on enjoyment, skill-building and facilitating self-expression. Groups are small, light-hearted and friendly (max enrolment in any course 8 people) allowing us to balance progressive skill building for the whole group with one-to-one attention to help individuals to develop their own ideas and to overcome any difficulties they may encounter. For more information please ring Rod and Fran on 07946 208211 In addition to the work which I produce and to our studio-based classes, I have continued to develop the communicative aspects of what I do, running a wide range of workshops for many different client groups. In this field, my work may range from the direct teaching of pottery skills at all levels, to the use of clay as an expressive medium through which to explore issues as diverse as confidence building, team work, strategy development and conflict management. Trained by Arts and Business, motivational and trouble-shooting corporate team days are our speciality; we can offer a range of options tailor made for your needs - contact me to arrange a meeting to discuss your brief or just to find out more.
