Background
The Digital Arts Forum Website is a news, listings and networking portal which offers its users the opportunity to publish news, represent themselves in the Gallery, Profile and Directory section and list their events. The website was initiated by the Arts Council East Midlands and the Arts and Technology Partnerships in Loughborough.
The Digital Arts Forum (DAF) is primarily aimed at artists and arts workers in the East Midlands region of the UK, who are working with film, video, animation, moving image, net art, photography and new media; although it welcomes input from the arts world further a field.
Aims
The DAF is an interactive platform website, which offers the opportunity to post and read news in the fields of arts and media exhibitions and events, opportunities and workshops, Call for Entries, conferences, festivals and many more. Its purpose is to support the regional arts scene through spreading information and contact details.
It aims to bring together a network of artists to exchange information and to develop collaborations and partnerships which will build the quality and profile of digital arts in the region.
Regular Digital Arts Forum social networking events are taking place in different venues around the region. The focus of those meetings is to present the current developments of the various venues, organisations and artists' work in the regional arts scene. Interested artists and arts professionals will be invited to presentations and to meet the people they have only been in online contact with before.
